This small group is designed to guide high school students through the essential skills of academic research writing in a supportive and structured environment. With just 3–6 students per group, each session offers focused instruction, step-by-step guidance, and individualized feedback.
Over the course of the session, students will learn how to:
Choose and narrow a research topic
Locate and evaluate credible sources
Take purposeful notes and avoid plagiarism
Organize ideas clearly and logically
Write and revise a research paper with proper citations (MLA format)
This group meets once a week and includes mandatory homework assignments to reinforce each stage of the writing process. Students will leave with a strong understanding of how to approach academic writing across subjects.
Ideal for students preparing for college, dual enrollment, or any coursework requiring formal writing and research skills.
