Nothing is more voracious than a student’s stomach! In this course, we will use (and eat) food to create diagrams on basic biological concepts, including nutrient uptake, plant anatomy, and nutritional content. As we dive into the organs and processes of digestion, we will have the opportunity to perform a rat dissection! Through hands-on activities, you can dive into the world of agriculture and how humans have impacted plants over the years. We will take a closer look at the heart of food sustainability, and craft educated debates around the pros and cons of GMOs. There will even be an opportunity to perform an experiment and write a report on your findings like a true scientist!
Students must bring own device to class (computer or tablet).
