In this course, middle school students will explore the fascinating world of modern psychology, focusing on how the brain works and influences thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Students will learn about key areas of brain function, including memory, decision-making, emotions, and problem-solving, while also discovering how scientists study the brain using modern technology.
The course will also introduce major psychological philosophies and theories of care, helping students understand how different approaches shape our understanding of mental health and well-being. From cognitive and behavioral psychology to humanistic and positive psychology, students will explore how these theories impact therapy, personal growth, and everyday life.
Through hands-on activities, discussions, and real-world applications, students will develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others while gaining valuable skills in emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and critical thinking.
