Welcome to Kitchen Chemistry! In this course, students will discover the exciting world of chemistry through the lens of food and cooking.
Through hands-on experiments, students will explore the chemical reactions that occur in food preparation and cooking. They will learn about the properties of different substances, such as acids, bases, and enzymes, and how they interact with each other to create the flavors, colors, and textures we experience in food.
Students will also explore the impact of cooking methods, such as baking, frying, and boiling, on the chemical makeup of food. They will investigate the chemical changes that occur during food preservation and fermentation, and how these processes can affect the taste and nutritional value of food.
